The dates and venues for the 2008 McGrath Cup Senior Football competition have been announced. The two preliminary round matches will take place on Sunday next with Waterford playing UL and Clare taking on UCC.

The dates and venues for the 2008 Waterford Crystal Cup Senior Hurling competition have been announced. Limerick have given a walkover to the Cork Institute of Technology due to the fact that the Limerick Senior Hurling panel are currently out of the country. On Sunday, Clare play UL while on Thursday under lights at Pairc Ui Rinn, LIT are due to play Cork.
In the first match played in the competition, Waterford defeated the Waterford Institute of Technology by 2-15 to 1-10. Match Report

The Quarter-Finals of the McGrath Cup will take place on Sunday at 2:00pm. The game between Waterford IT and Limerick IT fixed for Ballygunner on Sunday is off due to pitch conditions. Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) have received a walkover from Cork in the Preliminary Round of the Waterford Crystal Cup. LIT will now play Clare in the Quarter-Final on Sunday at 2:00pm in Meelick. Check out the match programme for the other Quarter-Final fixtures.
Clare defeated the University of Limerick by 0-20 to 1-13 in the Waterford Crystal Cup on Sunday at Meelick. On Thursday night, Cork are due to play the Limerick Institute of Technology at Pairc Ui Rinn.

Tipperary 4-14 Cork Institute of Technology 0-15- Goals from Lar Corbett (2), Pa Bourke and Eoin Kelly (penalty) helped Tipperary to an 11 point victory over Cork Institute Technology in the semi-final of the Waterford Crystal Cup. Tipperary led by 1-11 to 0-10 at the interval and will now play the winner of the other semi-final between Waterford and the Limerick Institute of Technology which is scheduled for Sunday in Dungarvan at 2:00pm.
